Mrs. Maybee's ENL class is celebrating Earth Day in style! After diving into a captivating Earth Day story, students brainstormed ways to give back to our planet. From there, they put their English skills to work, crafting detailed planting instructions for flowers and vegetables . Students will be watching their creations grow over the next few weeks before taking them home to enjoy for the summer .

Every year the English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Tests and Grades 5 & 8 Science Tests are administered to students in grades 3-8 across New York State. These tests are required by the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. The tests are designed to measure how well students are mastering the learning standards that guide classroom instruction and are a valuable tool used to help ensure students have the support needed to succeed. As we approach the New York State Assessment testing period, here is some information and some helpful tips to support your child's preparation for the upcoming exams. https://www.nysed.gov/state-assessment/parent-resources - Information about the assessments from New York State Helpful tips: Remind your child to charge their Chromebook fully each night before the test. Make sure your child gets enough rest and eats a healthy breakfast on test days. This can help your child perform their best. Stay positive! Encourage your child to stay positive and do their best work. Remind them to take their time and that these assessments are a chance to show what they have learned throughout the year.

Tickets for Prom will be on sale from April 22 to May 17. No tickets will be available after this date due to the location needing final numbers. The Prom theme is Brocton Eras Tour highlighting our Seniors and Juniors through the years. It will be held on Friday, May 24th at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celeron NY from 6 pm to 11 pm. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $50 each and the permission slips that were sent home the week of April 15th are due at the time of purchase for all of those attending the dance. Each person will have to turn in a permission slip. Which gives you the option to drive or take the bus. If you have a guest coming from another school please fill out proper paperwork in the High School office. To purchase tickets please see Ms. Tye in room 106 during homeroom. Can't wait to see you there and party the night away! **** Special Note: If any students want to attend the dance but need a sponsor for tickets please see me and I will see what I can do to help you out. We have taken the cost of the place, DJ, and food and divided it by 80 hoping to keep the price down as much as possible but with that being said we understand hard times and I will do whatever I can so you can attend if you want to but can't due to price. So please let me know if you need a sponsor and I will see what I can do. Thank you, Ms. Tye
