  • Department of Transportation is hiring summer roadway maintenance workers. This 40 hr./week summer program could lead to a permanent hire. $15.02/hr. This could lead to Traineeship hire, which includes salary increases, additional training, bonuses, and promotion opportunities, plus the benefits of a state job.   • Erie State Park (booth, maintenance, and lifeguards), Midway State Parks (ride operators), and other area parks are always looking for summer workers. These park jobs also give you two free college classes in the fall!

 

  • Cummins Diesel Engines Summer Work Program: They offer Summer temporary full-time positions staffed through Elwood Staffing. 13/hr., Assembly Line, day and night shift positions.

 

  • CDL - companies are always looking to train truck/big equipment drivers.

 

  • Consider interning or observing at worksites in your area of interest/passion. This often provides leads to work.

 

  • Chautauqua Institution hires for the summer, but you need to apply in Jan.

 

  • Harvest View Greenhouse and other greenhouses are often looking for Spring help, apply in Jan./Feb.

 

  • Landscaping Companies need extra help in Spring.

 

  • Local Farms often need help during Spring Break with Grape Tying.

 

  • Take a county Civil Service exam. You will be placed on a list that can lead to county opportunities.
