Scholarship due dates can vary from year to year, so please apply far in advance.
Wendy's Heisman Sports Scholarship - due Sept. 30 of your Senior Year
For excellence in sports, academics, and community involvement. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
Email a letter of interest to Mrs. Fitzgerald, BCS Guidance Counselor.
Young Arts National Arts Competition - due Oct. 17 - several awards
For excellence in visual, literary, or performing arts, like music, design, photography, writing, jazz, and several other categories.
Daughters of the American Revolution - due Nov. 27 - $25, $75, & $250
For good citizen and exceptional history student. National winners receive $5000 and trip to Wash. DC.
Applications in the Guidance Office.
GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship - $40,000 + benefits - apply from Oct. 17 to Jan. 5
For excellence in leadership, academics, integrity, drive, citizenship, and community involvement. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. $40,000 plus educational retreat in CA. Also gives support throughout college.
Coca Cola Scholarship - $20,000 - due Oct. 30
They are awarding 150 of these - check it out!

This is a list of scholarships taylored to our area in NY state. I know of at least one of these won by a student here at Brocton in the past. Due dates begin as early as September, and new scholarships continue to be posted througout the year.
Paws & Pets Animal Science Scholarship - $500
Posted by a group of pet bloggers that would like to give back to the community by offering a scholarship for students. The scholarship is available to students are in an animal-related field. Students will have the opportunity to respond to an essay prompt. More details are at the link below.
Bookworm Scholarship
Based on essay demonstrating an passionate reader who has gained important life lessons. Due Jan. 1.
Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarships - Nov. 31
500 4-year awards! Based on Scholarship, Leadership, and Financial Need. enf.elks.org/mvs
PTA JENKINS Scholarship - $3000 - Dec. 14
For students who want to become teachers, and have good academics, community service, and determination.
Horatio Alger Scholarships - $3000 - Dec. 14
Several awards based on various criteria, especially need and perseverance through difficulty.
Washington Crossing Scholarship - Jan. 15
For students who want to be in government service. It requires a well-written essay. It would help to read some books about US Government.
Green Ambassador Program - up to $2000 - start in January, must enroll by April 13
A five video program plus project that makes several scholarships available to you.
Hadden Scholarships - $5000 - only Feb. 1 to June 1
For low income students with GPA of 3.5 or higher. Based on character, leadership, & community service. Renewable each year if you maintain a 3.0 average in college.
HITEC Foundation Scholarship Program - $5000 - 35 awards - April 14
Hispanic heritage, 3.0 GPA
Trucking Technician Scholarship - $5000 to $20,000 - lots of awards - April 15
For seniors interested in the heavy trucking industry. The Technology & Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations has several scholarship opportunities.
Breakthrough Junior Challenge - $250,000 - June 25
The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos (3:00 minutes in length maximum) that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics. This year, there is an additional COVID-19 category. The submissions are judged on the student’s ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways.
