Transportation Information

The Brocton Central School District Transportation Department takes great pride in transporting our students to and from school safely.

We need your help with the following items:

  • Please obey the school speed zones.

  • Stop for the flashing red lights of the school bus.

  • Be ready for the bus 5 minutes prior to normal bus time. Don’t make the bus late for the next stop.

  • Follow all the bus safety rules.

  • Stay seated on the bus, bus seats are designed to keep students safe.

  • Changes in student transportation should be made in writing or on BCS transportation form. Form can be found on the BCS website.

  • If a child does not take advantage of AM transportation for five days in a row, with no phone call from his/her parent, it is BCS’s practice to suspend the AM pick up until we are contacted.

How to Cross Safely

  • Stay seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.

  • Get off promptly after the bus comes to a full stop.

  • Walk at least 15 feet ahead of the bus along the edge of the road.

  • Wait until the driver signals you to cross.

  • Cross in front of the bus at a distance that is visible to the driver.

  • Stop before crossing the centerline on the road to check for traffic.

  • Walk across quickly, don't run or stop to check mailboxes.

  • Go back to where you started if the driver beeps the horn.
