On Thursday, June 6th at 9:30 am, the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students will be presenting a musical entitled "Hats" featuring some of the greatest features Brocton has to offer: their smiling faces and the hats on their heads. If you have students that are in those grades, be sure to send them in with one hat by Thursday. This will be presented in the comfort of the Brocton Auditorium. Be sure to grab your seats as we explore all of the different kinds of hats in store and how they found their way onto our heads.

This week the first grade classes practiced their double digit addition skills in order to get access to the secret codes needed to program our new favorite robots, the Sphero Indi robot car. They have waited a long time for these robots to return and had fun learning to code while also problem solving and practicing Math.

The elementary STEM Club did a fantastic job competing in the 2024 STEM Wars, held at the Northwest Ice Area on May 22. They took home 4 first place awards, 1 second place award, and 2 third place awards! The competitions included a robotics challenge, marble run challenge, poster contest, and catapult challenge. Students worked in teams for each competiton. Raiden Hafner earned a third place award for a RC robot he built for the Maker Faire contest. There were at least 40 projects submitted, and Raiden's was in the top 3! Great job Raiden! When not competing they had a chance to talk to local STEM businesses and colleges and use equipment such as robotic arms, VR headsets, robots, and laser engravers. Students who competed this year were Arabella Pokoj, Nataleya Valle, Ryder Riforgiato, Brantley Galen, Brody Colt, Wyatt Karalus, Kayden Dzierzanowski, Alice Hamlet, Bentley Huber, Raiden Hafner, Jaxson Killion, Kiarra Link, and Joana VanValkenburg.
