Dear Brocton Families- The upcoming school break raises concern about travel-based COVID-19 cases. If BCS school staff members or families choose to travel, the New York State advisory guidance will apply for travelers who travel to a non-contiguous state for more than 24 hours. There are two Quarantine options: Option 1.) Travelers must quarantine for 10 days following arrival in New York State. Or option 2.) Quarantine while receiving two COVID-19 tests. With option 2-Travelers must obtain a diagnostic COVID-19 test within three days of departure (or prior to arrival in New York State). Travelers must quarantine upon arrival in New York State for three days. On day four of quarantine, the traveler must obtain another COVID-19 test. If both tests are negative, the traveler may exit their quarantine. Please provide the health office with both negative tests if you choose option 2. Contiguous states that you are able to visit without quarantine are the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, and Massachusetts (as long as their county is not under a current COVID-19 alert). If you have any questions about the New York State advisory guidance, please visit the Chautauqua County Department of Health website for more information. Have a great Mid-Winter Recess, Brocton!

Good evening, this is Superintendent Jason Delcamp informing you with the latest update that is specific to MS/HS students and staff. We have a number of students and staff that have been placed into quarantine for either being exposed to someone with Covid-19 or testing positive themselves at the MS/HS building. Finding adequate staff coverage for all necessary programming needs have been monumental. I have shared this concern regarding adequate coverage with the Board of Education and we all feel it is best to give families adequate notice if we intend to go full remote. Therefore, the Brocton MS/HS will be full remote on Monday, January 25, 2021. Brocton Elementary will continue with in-person instruction as normally scheduled. Bus runs for the elementary will remain the same. Again, only the MS/HS will be full remote learning on Monday, January 25, 2021. Career and Tech Ed students will have transportation to their CTE programs. CTE students will be contacted by someone from the MS/HS Office or Transportation Office as to their individual pick up times. As of this moment, it appears the MS/HS can resume on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 with our normal Hybrid Learning schedule with adequate staff coverage.

This message is for all families that have requested meal delivery for students who are full remote and on the hybrid learning model. Meals will be delivered starting at 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 20, 2021. This time is a half hour earlier than previous weeks. Meals will include multiple days of breakfasts and lunches. Please have a cooler available at the bus stop if you are unable to meet the staff at the bus stop. DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS, STAFF WILL NOT BE WALKING THE MEALS TO YOUR DOORSTEP. A COOLER OR AN INDIVIDUAL WILL NEED TO BE AT THE BUS STOP LOCATION. If for some reason you are unable to be at the bus stop, you may call the Transportation Department at (716) 792-2236 to make arrangements for your food to be picked up at the school at a later time, and that is more convenient for you. Our goal is to be sure all students have the meals they need while remote learning is taking place.

This message is to inform all parents, guardians, students, and staff that we have been notified by the Department of Health that four "off-site" individuals have tested positive for COVID-19. These individuals are considered "off-site" due to Brocton Central School being fully remote last week. There was one individual in the Elementary school and three individuals in the Middle/High School. Due to the date of symptom onset, no additional quarantine of individuals is required at this point. The District is working with the Health Department and are taking all recommended steps to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
