The 1st graders at Brocton Central School celebrated Arbor Day on Friday April 30, 2021. Mrs. Zambottis' class participated in the New York State Seeding Program and all of the students in her class received a free White Spruce tree to be planted at home. The students also planted a White Spruce tree in the courtyard of the school, they will get to see it change and grow over the years they attend BCS. Mrs. Zambotti is passionate about taking care of the Earth and feels it is crucial to teach students early on the importance of taking care of the environment and being kind to nature.

Elementary students celebrated Earth Day in many ways this week. Here are some "green" students designing and building tools to help keep the Earth clean. The materials they used were "trash" that needed to be recycled. Other students recycled paper to make Earth Seed Balls that can be planted to help grow more flowers.

Each year, Chautauqua Hospice and Palliative Care has a Tulip Sale. All of the proceeds benefit patients and families enrolled in Hospice and/or Palliative care. The Tulip Sale in the North County has been made possible by Michele Starwalt-Woods, whose father passed away on March 12th of this year. Michele’s mission is to give back to the Hospice agency which helped her father live his last year of life, in the most compassionate, respected, and best way possible. The Brocton Central School District would like to thank Michele for coming in this morning to allow our students and staff members to help donate to an amazing agency and also brighten up our classrooms with beautiful tulips.
